Welcome to CROLCC, we are so glad you are here worshiping with us. We have been in our series Small Things Big Difference and we have been saying it’s often the small things that no one sees that result in the big things that everyone wants. The reason we can say that is because of the principle of reaping and sowing. You reap what you sow, and you know that. The problem is when it comes to the things we want change in life we often want it immediately. We can’t wait and we don’t want to wait. We want to look for the big thing that will immediately bring us the big change. But the principle of reaping and sowing shows us that we don’t reap overnight, but only with consistent work over time will we be able to reap the harvest eventually. Small things multiply by time makes the big difference.
In week 2 we suggested one of the small things you can start doing is by changing the way you think. Think constructive thoughts and get rid of those destructive thoughts, because what you think will lead to what you said. So last week we said another small thing you might need to change is to change the words you say. If it’s harmful to you and to others, don’t say it. If it’s good and it’s needed to you and to others, keep saying it. Because what you say will lead to what you do.
So today as we conclude our series we are going to talk about that thing you do over and over again – habits. Because if you change your habit, even though it seems small, it will lead to a chain reaction of big changes that you might not even realize.
Moving Forward
It’s often the small things that no one sees that result in the big things that everyone wants. What are the small things that you need to identify today as you begin to make a positive change to your life? Do you need to change your thinking, your word and your action? Begin doing that today so it will become a good habit.
Discussion Questions
1. Think about your everyday routine, what are some of the things you repeatedly do without ever thinking about it?
2. What are some things if any, that you repeatedly do that you wish you could stop doing?
3. What are some things if any, that you wish you would start doing so it could be part of your routine?
4. Read Galatians 6:7-9. In the beginning of the series we asked you to think about the one area you would like to see change in your life. What habit do you need to develop or break in order to see that change? What can this group do to support you to help you see that change?
