Small Things Big Difference (2) – Thoughts Matter

Welcome to CROLCC, we are so glad you are here worshiping with us. Last week we started our series Small Things Big Difference and we said that it’s often the small things that no one sees that result in the big things that everyone wants. We said that if you want to see changes in your life, you will need to start identifying the small things and start doing them. We often mistakenly think that we should do some big things to make those changes, but it’s really doing the small things over time that will bring the changes and the impact that we desire. So last week we asked you to think about one area you would like to see change in your life, and begin to identify what small things you would need to start doing to see that change.

So today we are going to talk about one small thing we can begin doing that will make a significant impact in our lives – changing our thoughts. What do you usually think about? In fact, here’s a thought audit you can do to begin our discussion today:

Now that you realized what you often think about, are you ready to do the necessary small things regarding your thoughts to bring the big difference you want in your life?

Moving Forward

Jesus never promised that we will have a worry free life. In fact, He said that in this world we will have trouble. It is our choice to choose what to think about in the midst of our circumstances. Capture those destructive thoughts and start focusing on constructive thoughts today.

Discussion Questions

1. When you did your Thought Audit (Worried vs. Peaceful, Negative vs. Positive, Worldly vs. Eternal) what are your results? How have you been influenced to think this way?

2. Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Paul talks about taking captive of destructive thoughts. How have your destructive thoughts affected you? What destructive thoughts do you need to capture?

3. Read Philippians 4:8-9, what are the constructive thoughts you might need to start focusing on today?

4. What steps will you take to fix your thoughts on thoughts that will build you up? What can this group do to help you?
