Holy Spirit – Our Best Help

Welcome to CROLCC, we are so glad you are here worshiping with us. Last week we talked about the overall theme of the Bible – Redemption. If you are reading the Bible and I hope you are, and when you get lost and confused, remember you are the redeemed. God wrote His story and He continues to write the story of Redemption. No matter who you are or what you have done, God sent Jesus His Son to redeemed you from sin. When you understand that and begin to let that thought sink into your hearts, why wouldn’t you get up every morning and say yes to God?

But it’s hard sometimes to say yes to God isn’t it?  Do you feel sometimes it’s hard to live up to the standard of being a Christian?  You really want to follow God and maybe you have tried, only to find that you keep giving in to the same temptations over and over again.  You really do want to live out your faith, but you find yourself unable to at times.  I want to give you some good news, as Christians we get some help from God himself to live out our Christian faith.  That help is the Holy Spirit.  Walking with the Holy Spirit is not something only reserved for the strong Christians, it is available to you too.  It’s available for all of us as Christ followers.

Moving Forward

To begin walking in the Spirit you will need to begin by believing that the Holy Spirit of God dwells in you and that He can lead you.  Then you need to practice listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  Start doing the things that will help you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Changing Your Mind

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

3. Read Galatians 5:16-18. How have you experienced conflict between the Spirit and your sinful nature? How have you felt the Spirit leading you?

4. Read Galatians 5:22-23. How have you seen the results of following the Spirit in your life? Which fruit of the Spirit would you like to see more of in your life?
