Scripture: John 2: 1-11

1. Change water into wine shows Jesus’ power in what ways?

Change water into wine: came into existence, overcome time/space

’was made and shows His glory’

Jesus made the promise before that “you shall see Greater things than this!”

The Bible records the faith of Abraham towards God. NIV: As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.” This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were. (Roman 4:17)

What does the disciples believe in?

“the disciples believed him,” is not referring to “believing Jesus as messiah.”

2. How does Jesus’ promise come true?

(1). What happened when Jesus was invited to a wedding banquet:

May there were administrative issues, erroneous decisions and estimations, or there were some stinginess…ect that “we have no wine” situation happened. Something so unfortunate happened in this joyous event. Very fortunate that Jesus was invited

(2). Someone brought this situation before Jesus

(3). Respect God to be God

Then Mary let down her will and let Jesus be God “Do whatever he tells you”

(4). Let God have control of the entire situation

3. Jesus’ power can only influence those who’s hearts in the right place

(1). People whose hearts are open will notice God’s work and their faith increases

(2). The servants saw the miracle, but did not encounter Jesus

(3). They were apart of the miracle, but no part in Jesus

Roman 4:17
