Welcome to CROLCC, we are so glad you are here worshiping with us. We are officially into the Christmas month, and it really is the most wonderful time of the year. For some of us it’s time to reflect on the past year, for others of us we love to take the opportunity to be generous and to serve. I don’t know what your family tradition is around this time, but do take some time to build memory in your family, especially if you have kids. They will probably not remember what you said, but they will always treasure and remember the memory you help them create. I am not big on traditions, but I have learned to value them because they are essential in building relationships.
Today we are going to celebrate with those that are getting baptized. Baptism is a declaration of your association with Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is your savior because when he died on the cross and rose again he paid for your sins. He is your Lord because you have decided to say “not my will but your will be done.” Baptism day is a day for us not only to celebrate with the ones getting baptized, it is also a day to remind ourselves that we do really have a Savior and a Lord in our lives. Especially as we await the celebration of Christmas, a baby born in Bethlehem two thousand years ago not for any other reason, but for us.
