Welcome to CROLCC, we are so glad you are here worshiping with us. We have been in our series Follow and we have been talking about what it means to follow Jesus. We said that all of us have been invited to follow Jesus, and you can take your past, your doubts, your unbelieves along with you. You can even begin following Jesus as a consumer, because all Jesus’ followers start that way. But at some point, you will experience that following Jesus will cost you something. Maybe it has already cost you, your dream person, your dream job, your dream opportunity. And if it hasn’t, rest assure that it will. But you need not be afraid and need not worry, because ultimately God is still in control of everything, and you will find out when you open your hands and allow Him to lead, you will lack nothing.
So today as we celebrate Easter together, as we celebrate that fact that Jesus rose from the dead two thousand years ago, what better way to celebrate than to witness eight of us being baptized in the name of Jesus. They have decided to follow Jesus and they want to tell the world about it. Our job is to cheer them on. Our job is to walk with them, to support them, to encourage them. Because when Jesus calls us to follow Him, He never calls us to follow Him alone, instead He calls us to follow Him together. Remember? Love one another, so that everyone may know that you are my disciples (follower of Jesus).
