Welcome to March everyone. We just ended our marriage and dating series last week and I hope you have not forgotten about it already. Even though you might have forgotten about what we have talked about I hope you will never forget about your marriage. Remember, your marriage is as good as you decide for it to be. If you put in the time for your marriage, you will more than likely have a great marriage. So, let’s just recap real quick one more time, be the right person, fight fair, have fun and never give up. Don’t become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up.
Today we are going to talk about the central message of our belief – the message of the cross. And we are so honored to have pastor Frank with us today. For those of you that are meeting him for the first time, pastor Frank ministers to the people who work in the Capitol, and we are so honored to partner with him through prayers. We believe that if God can transform the lives of those that lead our state, God can transform the people that live in this state. Therefore, we must fearlessly continue to share the message that we believe in to everyone, because there truly is power to transform lives in our message of the cross.
Moving Forward
Take the opportunity to share with someone the message of the cross today.
Discussion Questions
1. We are continually bombarded with commercials and advertising messages. Do any come to mind? Is there one you like (maybe a recent Super Bowl commercial), or one you would prefer to never see/hear again?
2. Read 1 Corinthians 1:17-2:10. What stands out to you in this passage?
3. Have you ever felt like you’ve drifted from the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? If yes, then describe how. If no, then, why not?
4. Have you ever spoken to someone about Jesus when it felt difficult for you to do so or when they did not receive it well? Explain.
5. Have you ever seen the power of the message of Jesus at work in your life or someone else’s life? When have you seen it most clearly?
