We just finished our series on Climate Change and I am overjoyed that many of you took the challenges seriously and fought for your relationships. I pray that God will continue to give you the courage and the humility to improve your own climate, so that you will bring a positive climate into every single one of your relationships. Remember, climate dictates the forecast, and until the climate changes, the forecast remains the same. And ultimately when we continue to trust God and do the next right thing, there will be a “Then God…” moment as God attempts to build hope in our lives. Where there’s hope, there’s a healthy heart. Where there’s a healthy heart, there’s a healthy emotional climate.
Today we are going to watch a DVD message together by pastor Craig Groeschel. Pastor Craig is the senior pastor of LifeChurch.tv. Did you know the Bible App you are using on your smartphones is made by LifeChurch.tv? He is going to talk about how the young and the old generations can work together to better any organizations or any homes. I guarantee you will find his message funny, engaging, and insightful. As you watch today, I pray that you will be stretched by God, and that you will be willing to work with different age groups and learn from them. Let’s build a God honoring, multi-generational church together.
Moving Forward
In church we often talk about and pray about unity. But are you willing to do the hard work that leads to unity? Would you be willing to mentor those that are younger than you and honor those that have gone before you?
Discussion Questions
1. Who are some of the people that have been influential in your life? How have they influenced you?
2. Read Psalm 71:18. Craig talked about investing in the next generation. In what ways can you invest in the next generation?
3. Craig talked about honoring those that have gone before us. In what ways can you honor those that have paved the way for you to succeed?
