The Blueprint of Life 4 – Doing My Part (Colossians 3:23-24)

[audio:ec_042813.mp3]

Well, we have been talking about finding God’s plan or God’s will in our lives and I am sure each and
every one of us would like to know what that is for us. Even if I was to convince you that there really
isn’t a plan for life, there is something in us that would want to say no to that. We are convinced at
some point in our lives that life just can’t be the daily routines; wake up, go to work, come home, eat,
sleep and do it all over again. We so want to believe that there is a greater purpose for us beyond what
at normally do every day.

Now, since work and profession is a major component of most of our lives, we are going to spend today
talking about it. Did you know that if you were to start working at the age of 18 and work till you are 65,
you would have spent 97,464 hours working in your life? And that’s counting just 8 hours a day, 5 days
a week. If you work overtime, you would have easily exceed 100,000 hours in your life just working!
So, when we talk about God’s will for us, don’t you want to believe that would include our job and
profession as well? If so, what kind of connection is there between our profession and our purpose in
life?

Changing Your Mind

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since
you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are
serving.
Colossians 3:23-24

6. Is there an opportunity where you are now that you are ignoring because the income doesn’t match
the workload?
