Pastor Huang – Jesus’ five roles of redemption and restoration

Jesus’ five roles of redemption and restoration
Scripture: John 4: 4-40

The woman’s question and positive influence: How did she lead the village to come out and find Jesus?

1. He is the shepherd who focus on people’ inner needs V7-10
Jesus’ goal is not to ask her for anything, but to give her “living water,” so that in her daily needs, she is no longer troubled and has to come out at noon for water when nobody is around

2. He is the cover, who gives protection for those in need V11-14
cover: give his best, so that others can be covered and needs met

3. He is the doctor, he diagnosis, and gives healing V15-18
In acceptance, from love, heal the wound, sickness, and lead man out of trouble to become healthy, free, and realize their potential.

4. He is the teacher, reveal mistake and lead to right path V19-24
He will not tire and he will go deep and give meaningful directions to lead us out of mistakes to go on the right path, so people can succeed
He showed the woman she was believing in religion, and tells her what true worship is, and how she can work together with God. Jesus helped her get rid of her problem: tell your husband to come

5. He is the lamb, sacrificed to redemption so life can have meaning V25-26, 28
The anointed one, the savior “sacrifice to complete” so that we can be saved from bondage an oppression. People can be freed, so that they can reach their potential.
“I’m the one who will lead you to the truth”

Conclusion
Jesus did not try to religiously cleanse her first, so that she became a “saint” and then sent her out
Jesus act as shephard, cover, healer, teacher to help her feel confident and face her problem: find her husband first
As the anointed one, he used her special Character to help her “the entire village to be become redeemed” by Jesus
